WOW! New My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up

Click on Photo for a full size view.....
I received the new My Digital Studio software(lovingly known as MDS) yesterday from Stampin' Up and have been playing a little bit with it today. It is AWESOME "totally"!
Above is a scrapbook page I made with the software. It actually was pretty easy of course it is not too complicated of a page. I have never used digital software before so for me it is a major feat.

I told my husband that I am going to have to start scanning all my thousands of photographs (stored in shoeboxes no less) onto the computer. I can hardly wait to get started.

SOOOOOO........If you want this software for yourself it will be available from Stampin' Up Oct 1. You can order it directly from me or my stampin' up website. Yea!!!
Take care and Stamp Happy

Great use for paper scraps

I found these little notebooks at Michael's dollar spot. They had a great variety of colors. So I decided to Alter them a bit with Stampin Up Designer Series Paper and some punches. All I did was cut a square to cover the front and back. I adhered it with SU stick strip. Then made a belly band and added a scalloped punch with a monogram. Great way to make it personalized.

If you would rather make the booklet yourself you can. Dawn Griffith has a great tutorial on her website. www.dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com
Love thise site.

Have fun and stamp happy

Chloe gets a haircut

Chloe, my 13 year old border collie, has come to southern utah to live with rick and I. She has been living with my daughter for the past few years. She has sooooooo much hair and it sheds like crazy. So I took her to get a haircut. I had the groomer take her hair down to the skin because it gets so STINKIN hot here. She does seem a little happier without all of the hair and even looks 10 years younger. Amazing!

I am having so much fun making these Chic Rub on Gift Sets. This set was made using retired Good Morning Sunshine Paper and retired Love and Happiness Rub ons. I have made some sets using retired christmas paper. I will try to post some pics later on.

I am working on my Class Kits in the Mail program and this will be one of the tutorials that will be available soon.

Using up retired SU DSP

I am trying to get ready for a craft fair the end of August and am using up all the beautiful designer series paper that I have accumulated. Also, it is now retired by Stampin' Up and gotta use it up so I can order the new stuff :). The container is created by using an origami folding technique (1 sheet 12x12 DSP). The outside is covered cardboard that is 5 1/2 x 12" wrapped to become a solid supporting piece. A 18" length of 1/2 in. ribbon is used to tie it all together.
This is a great way to package a little something special for a quick gift.

SU DSP is Sweet Slumber (retired), Stamp sets used are both retired, Bloomin' with Love, and the 2009 SAB Yummy! I used a tutorial by Dianne Shiozaki www.stmprdee.com.

Have a good day and watch for more tomorrow
Stamp Happy!!!!

TopSUswap yahoo group May swaps

Check out our group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TopSUSwaps/
I received these beautiful Bird cards from Cathy B. Nola B. Tammie Jo, Kimberly, and the beautiful anonymous pacific point bluebird lady. Her card was not marked I would love to give her credit. I am so happy with the quality of the cards I get.

These cards are from the monthly swap Lisa Cole does. I have been swapping with this group since January of this year. Each month has a different theme. May was Father's day or Graduation. The father's day cards were made byJoyce Henson, I belive the watercolor was by Roxanne Provencher, the dad card was mine, and unfortunately the whale wishes card is anonymous also.

These cards are from the Cupcake card swap for May. Every card is so unique and individual. I know you can't tell in the picture but some of the cupcakes have sprinkles on them. Yummm they sure look tasty. These fantastic cards were created by none other than Joann Williams, Kimberly Fischer, Jamie Thornton, Tammie Jo, and Torrijean.

These graduation cards were from lisa coles monthly swap also. These were made by the talented Barbara Packer-Sanders, Sheila Johnston, and again anonymous. I would really like to give credit to these great stamping ladies for all of their hard work. I would appreciate it if anyone knows this work or if it is yours please let me know so I can let everyone know what a fabulous artist you are.

Amazing Rainbow

Click on photo for better view...........
Just before the sun went down about 8:45 this evening this was the rainbow that was just out my front door.
I don't have panorama on my cheap camera so this is my attempt at piecing my photos together so you could see what I was so fortunate to see. I did take video but haven't figured out how to put it on the blog yet.
I love living in Southern Utah.

It has been a bit since I last posted. This is a card that I did for a monthly swap I do on TopSUSwaps yahoo group. This is for June the theme for the month is summer or fourth of July. Since I don't have summer or patriotic stamps specifically I chose to use
Wagon Full of Fun stampset (Occasions mini catalog) Rockabilly DSP, Kiwi kiss CS and ribbon, Eyelet Border punch, and stampin dimensionals. On the inside I stamped "Life's a Breeze" from the Life's a breeze stampset (2009 Spr/smr catalog.

FYI..........
All of these stampsets and paper retire or go dormant as of June 30th. Go to my website (http://www.lovethosestamps.stampinup.net/) and click on SHOP NOW to get these before they are gone.
Smile and have a great day.

CLICK ON COLLAGE FOR BETTER VIEW.....

Well here is the rest of the gang for the graduation party. Again I CASED these from Samantha Parisi (www.rubberstampingdiva.com). Now all I need to do is to get the bamboo skewers to attach each of my little people to so they will go into the centerpieces and to make about 20 bows. I am usually quite a procrastinator and wait til the very last minute but I was having so much fun with these I couldn't stop. Hope you like them too.

3 Cheers for Punch Art

CLICK ON COLLAGE FOR CLOSE UP VIEW....
I have to tell you that I am hooked on punch art characters. This is what I have been working on the past couple of days. My friend is having a graduation party for some kids in her community and asked me to help with table decorations. So after seeing these great little people by Samantha Parisi ( http://rubberstampingdiva.com/?cat=11) I knew I had to CASE them. I still need to make 16 more that will be volleyball players and basketball players. I decided that I will compile a punch art folder with supplies and such so it will be easy for me to remember how to make them cuz as the days go by I seem to misplace things in my brain. Therefore, it could be lost forever. These are alot of fun to make and really quite easy after the first couple. I will post pictures of the table centerpieces when I get those together. The party isn't until Memorial Day so it will be around then, as I will be using fresh flowers in the arrangements.
Smile and have a fabulous Mother's day tomorrow.

My attempt at applique using Su paper and punches

Click on picture for a closer view......
When my kids were small I really enjoyed sewing and applique. Not so much anymore. In Feb. this year I ran across an old fabric applique wall hanging book that I loved to use way back when. I had an Ahhhh Ha moment and decided to try making some wall hangings or scrapbook pages using the idea. So I set out and resized the patterns to work on 12 x 12 cardstock. This is what I have come up with so far. My goal is to make one for each month of the year which I will then put into a 12 x12 frame and then rotate out. I am working on a list of the SU DSP and punches that I used on these I will attach those later. Personal pictures could be placed in any of the boxes which would make these into great scrapbook pages.

Smile and have a Happy day!

Toilet Tissue Mini Album

click on collage to see larger pictures.................
I have been wanting to try this technique since I first saw it on Stampin' Up website. I "cased" this from the stampers library on the Demo website. The Tutorial was by Julie Griffith and Susie Nelson presented it.

I have been saving empty toilet paper rolls for the last month and I am now getting quite a large pile of them. My husband thinks I am little "LOO LOO" but creative crafty people hear that often. Don't they?

This project used 3 TP rolls, SU Good Morning Sunshine DSP, SU "Just Buzzin' By" stampset, SU Jumbo eylets, Barely Banana CS for inserts and SU 5/8" grograin ribbon. The tutorial I followed used four TP rolls. Three worked for me on this project. You can chose how many you need for your mini album. This was very easy and fun I can see myself making many of them in the future.

Smile and Bee Happy!

So, now I have gotten the blog going my next step is to figure out how to get my project pictures uploaded. I am pretty proud of myself for getting the last picture added. I will probably do some backtracking by adding a few things that have gone one so far this year until I get some worthwhile things on the blog. I have to admit that it does take more time than I thought it would to get things figured out. I guess my brain is in slo mo. Practice makes perfect so I will practice, practice , practice. Have a wonderful day.

Trip to Seattle April 2009

I had the most fabulous vacation to Seattle a couple of weeks ago. I was able to visit my son, Troy. He moved to Seattle last Sept. to work at the SeaTac airport. I haven't seen him for 8 months. He was such a wonderful host. And it was so good to see him. While I was there he showed me what a beautiful place Seattle is. He took me out to dinner, and we walked up and back Alki beach in West Seattle, where I was able to see the beautiful cityscape. He introduced me to a very nice young lady he is dating and I thought they were a good match. It does my heart good to see where he is living and that he is happy. I can hardly wait to go back and visit again.
